South Ossetian authorities may dismiss government of Brovtsev

As reported earlier, the South Ossetian authorities may dismiss the government headed by Vadim Brovtsev. According to South Ossetian parliamentary vice-speaker Yuri Dzizzoyta, the matter is expected to be considered during the forthcoming parliamentary session on May 4th.

Parliamentarians suspect the incumbent government of misusing budget funds. The deputies are dissatisfied with the fact that the budget plan for 2010 has still not been submitted to the parliament. Brovtsev was appointed Prime Minister in March 2009. He was recommended by the Russian Ministry for Regional Development. Brovtsev has conducted administrative reform, reduced the number of officials and appointed people from Russia to control the financial sphere,
barring experts from the Kokoita’s (Ossetian President's) team from the flows of funds. Experts say these measures caused discontent with the Prime Minister among the republic's authorities.

If Brovtsev’s government is dismissed it will be the third change of cabinet since the war of August 2008.
