Brussels has held the fourth plenary session on Georgian association with the European Union on Wednesday, Trend reports.
Three working groups were considering the preamble. The first working group refers to political dialogue and reform, cooperation within common foreign and security policy; the second group – justice, freedom and security; the third – financing, economic and sectorial cooperation.
Georgia was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Tornike Gorgadze. Members of related structures were included in the delegation.
Gunar Vigard, deputy head of the directorate of the European External Action Service (EEAS) in Europe and Central Asia supervised the EU delegation.
The first round of talks on association with Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia was held in July 2010. The deals touch upon a wide range of spheres, including political dialogue, justice, freedom and security, trade and cooperation.
Azerbaijan, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus and Armenia are taking part in the Eastern Partnership program of the EU. The program involves a simplified visa regime, cooperation in energy and free trade.
Georgia and EU adopted a simplified visa regime on March 1.
