Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has dismissed 10 police generals, including the heads of police departments in a set of regions, the press service of the Kremlin said, RIA Novosti reports.
General-Major Victor Berdnikov, deputy head of the Main Interior Department of Sverdlovsk Region, head of the department of staff; General-Major Nikolai Mikhailov, head of the Barnaul Law Institute; General-Major Yakov Stakhov, Minister of Interior Affairs of Yakutia; General-Major Boris Timonichenko, police chief of Kurgan Region; and General-Lieutenant Oleg Khotin, police chief of Voronezh Region, were dismissed as heads of regional interior departments.
General-Major Victor Bulushev, head of the Interior Department of Kursk Region; General-Lieutenant Yuri Gorlov, head of the Main Interior Department of Perm Region; General-Major Nikolai Gudozhnikov, head of the Interior Department of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District; General-Major Anatoly Zhuravlyov, Minister of Interior Affairs of Kalmykia; and General-Major Nikolai Larkov, Minister of Interior Affairs of Mordovia, were also dismissed.
