Members of the Coordination Committee for Anti-Missile Defense of the CIS have discussed projects of inter-state agreements on regional anti-missile systems in the Caucasus and Central Asian regions, spokesman of the Russian Air Forces Vladimir Drik said, ITAR-TASS reports.
The meeting in Kiev today had delegates from the Defense Ministries of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
The sides talked on anti-missile issues and improvement of bilateral and multilateral military cooperation. They rounded-up the work of the coordination committee in 2010 and agreed on joint activities in 2011.
The delegates discussed practical realization of the Russian-Belarusian agreement on joint protection of exterior border of the CIS in airspace and establishment of a Common Regional Anti-Missile System of Russia and Belarus.
The sides made agreements on preparations for signing documents on establishment of regional anti-missile systems in the Caucasus and Central Asian regions, Drik said.
