Hurriyet reports that Iran's parliament is telling President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to obey an order from the country's supreme leader to reinstate Iran's intelligence minister.
The statement from lawmakers deepens the high-level political battle over Heidar Moslehi, who resigned Sunday over an apparent rift with Ahmadinejad. But Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei quickly ordered Moslehi to remain.
Iranian media say Moslehi showed up for work Wednesday, but a pro-government website said Ahmadinejad doesn't recognize him as his intelligence minister. The president's website also has not removed the report on Moslehi's resignation.
Khamenei has the final say on all state matters and lawmakers warn that Ahmadinejad cannot rebuff the country's most powerful figure.
