Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that he had a conversation with Libyan leader Maummar Gaddafi after the military activities started in Libya, RIA Novosti reports.
Lukashenko said that Gaddafi noted prejudiced attitude of European media on the events in Libya. The EU policy in Libya reached a dead end. It is a war for resources and oil, Lukashenko underlined.
Libya has been struck with mass disorders with demands of its leader Muammar Gaddafi, who has been at power for over 40 years, to resign. Protests turned into mass clashes with the law-enforces.
International organizations say that thousands died, Libyan authorities deny the information.
The UN Security Council passed a resolution on March 17, introducing a no-fly zone over Libya. A military operation involving USA, Canada, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Denmark and Norway started on March 19. NATO took full command of the operation on March 31.
The National Council was formed in Benghazi, center of Libyan rebels. Italy, France and a set of other states recognize the council as the Libyan authority.
