Turkey urges a halt to violence in Libya

Turkey has called for an end violence in Libya within seven days, Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini cited Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, RIA Novosti reports.

"Minister Davutoglu is deeply concerned about the never-ending violence in Libya. He urges a stop to be put to it immediately," Frattini said.

The Rome Group in its second session today discussed the situation in Libya and ways to finance the Libyan rebels.

Before the meeting of the group, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini. Officials said the talks of the  coalition against Muammar Gaddafi are not focusing on military aspects, Euronews reports.

Frattini also said the plan is to set up a type of internationally controlled trust fund for the rebels. The rebels are asking for up to three billion dollars.
