Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will visit Turkey on May 11th -12th to discuss economic cooperation and mutual investments, reports ITAR-TASS.
"Relations between Turkey and Russia are moving to a new level of development," presidential aide Sergei Prikhodko said.
Turnover between Turkey and Russia reached $19.6 billion in 2009.
Prikhodko added that during the visit more than 20 agreements would be signed on transportation, agriculture, energy, education and tourism.
A meeting with Turkish Premier Recep Erdogan and other top-officials is also on agenda.
Cooperation in the sphere of energy is a substantial part of the Russian-Turkish relations. Prikhodko noted that the joint implementation of energy projects such as the pipelines "Blue Stream -2", "South Stream" and "Samsun-Djeihan" as well as the construction of Turkey's first nuclear power station are very promising with regard to bilateral energy cooperation.
The visit will also see discussions of issues of international relations, including the fight against extremism and terrorism, the establishment of a new European security doctrine, the situation in the Caucasus region, and the Iranian nuclear program, added Prikhodko.
