Guardian Council of Iranian Constitution called the decision of the President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to head the oil ministry "illegal", wrote Los Angeles Times citing the agency Fars.
Guardian Council decided that Ahmadinejad allegedly violated the 135-th article of the constitution.
On Monday, Ahmadinejad announced that he would head the oil ministry after the resignation of the minister.
Earlier it became known that Ahmadinejad and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei came into conflict. President's closest associates were arrested on charges of witchcraft, and the President himself might face impeachment.
Iran's Guardian Council consists of 12 people, six of whom are appointed by the Ayatollah, and six by the Iranian parliament the Majlis.
