The International Monetary Fund declared Iran the world's 18th largest
economic country, with a GDP of $828 billion relative to the
purchasing power of its currency in 2009, the Russian service of
Iranian State TV and radio reports.
According to the IMF report, at a time when the economies of many
countries in the world suffered from the financial crisis, Iran saw an
increase in GDP and jumped by one position in the list of global
economies.
The report also notes that Iranian GDP in 2008, relative to the
purchasing power of the currency, was $803.5 billion.
Average yearly income in Iran was $11,026 in 2008, reaching $11,172 in 2009.
