Georgian police forces broke up an opposition rally that took place in front of the National Television building in Tbilisi, Interfax reports.
After about 30 protesters with plastic tubing attacked a car in which they claimed policemen were sitting, riot police took decisive action, Azerbaijani news agency Trend reports.
Participants in the rally accused the police of trying to detain the protesters, but frames can be seen that the attack was not provoked.
In Batumi the policemen took the local office of the National Assembly organization by storm, the Georgian opposition say.
The leader of the National Assembly opposition movement, Nino Burjanadze, is demanding impartial coverage of what happened.
