Suspected organizers of disorders detained in Georgia

The Georgian Foreign Ministry said that 24 people, suspected of being
members of armed formations, have been detained at Kintsvisi
Monastery, Georgia Online reports.

Two people died and several were injured in a crackdown on protesters
in Georgia on May 26.

The Georgian police believe that former Georgian Culture Minister
Temur Khachishvili, who lives in Russia, was the group’s supervisor.

The police presented audio clips of their conversations, in which they
discussed destabilizing the situation in Georgia and provoking armed
conflicts.

A supervisor of the armed group, member of the National-Religious
Movement Nika Goguadze, said that they were under the command of Nino
Burjanadze’s husband, Badri Bitsadze. They planned attacks.

The police say that Khachishvili and Bitsadze were in close contact.
Bitsadze has been charged with preparing disorders today.
