EU criticizes Georgian agriculture policy

The European Union believes that Georgian agriculture policy is
inconsistent, Business Georgia reports.

Georgia still continues reducing agriculture production, despite the
European Neighborhood Policy plan approved in 2010. The EU says that
the problem is inconsistence of policy, undeveloped service, non-full
output, a limited credit system and old technology.

The Agriculture Ministry finances mechanization programs, provides
free fertilizers and subsidies for growing grapes.

The report was presented by the head of the EU mission in Georgia,
Philip Gordon.
