NATO refuses to stop operation in Libya despite civilian casualties

NATO will not stop Operation Unified Protector in Libya, the Secretary
General of the alliance Anders Fogh Rasmussen said, RIA Novosti
reports.

Rasmussen said that NATO will do its best to avoid any civilian casualties.
Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini on Wednesday proposed
allowing international organizations to support civilians. France
spoke out against the initiative.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry continues sending humanitarian aid to
Libya, regardless of the location of people in need. This includes
food, tents, blankets and other goods.

Russia is in contact with the authorities in Tripoli and the rebel
government in a search for the best ways to provide humanitarian
support.
