The Persian Garden in Iran is one of six on the list of UNESCO World
Heritage sites, Trend reports.
The Persian Garden consists of 9 gardens, the number of provinces.
Each garden has four sections. The Persian Garden was designed to
resemble four Zoroastrian elements: sky, earth, water and plants. The
garden's construction started in the 6th century BC. It influenced
garden planning in India and Spain.
UNESCO put five Iranian cultural phenomena on the list in November 2010.
This includes Horasan melodies, Pahlevani rituals, theatre art and the
carpentry of Farse and Kashane. They were introduced at a session in
Nairobi on November 15-19.
UNESCO added Nowruz and radif musical performance in 2009.
