The Iranian ambassador to China is at a conference on trade issues of
the two states. He noted that Iran is China's second largest trade
partner, Iran.ru reports.
Trade turnover between China and Iran is expected to reach $40 billion.
Tehran and Beijing established diplomatic ties in 1971. While initial
trade turnover wass $5.98 million, it reached $29.4 billion in 2010,
meaning that trade turnover has increased 4,900-fold.
Iran exported products worth $11.1 billion to China in 2010 and
imported $18.3 billion-worth. Trade turnover in January-April 2011
reached $13.28 billion, increasing by 55% compared to the same period
in 2010.
Iran is China's third greatest oil exporter. Non-oil exports to China
are increasing as well. It exports machinery, industrial equipment,
products of light industry, metals, resources, cars, food and
agricultural products.
