The Georgian consulate in Moscow's electricity was cut off due to a
nonpayment of utility bills. According to the business center
administration, diplomats have not been paying for electricity since
2008 and owe hundreds of thousands of rubles to the business center,
RIA Novosti reports referring to the head of the RusInvestProekt which
owns the Business Center on Ostozhenka, Oleg Anika, RIA Novosti
reports.
The Georgian consulate was opened on 5 March 2009 at the Swiss embassy
in Moscow in connection with a break of diplomatic relations between
Russia and Georgia. On Friday, the consular services stopped their
work referring to the Russian authorities which allegedly cut their
office off electricity.
According to the administration of the Business Center on Ostozhenka,
the Georgian consulate owes to municipal authorities 1.076 million
rubles for the period January 1, 2008 till December 31, 2010.
