Davutoglu to deliver a firm message to Syria

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is sending the country's Foreign Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu, to Syria to hold "necessary meetings", Erdogan announced on Saturday, Trend cites CNN Turk.

According to Erdogan, Davutoglu will depart for Syria on Tuesday. During the talks the Foreign Minister will deliver Turkey's message to the Syrian authorities in a "firm way", Erdogan said.

"Our patience has come to an end," he added.

Erdogan also stressed that the recent events in Syria are an "internal matter" for Turkey, as the two countries have an 850-kilometer border, family, historical and cultural ties.

The Turkish authorities have strongly criticized the Syrian leadership for the suppression of popular protests and the use of force against civilians.
