North Ossetian Leader Taymuraz Mamsurov has reported on the socio-economic development of the region to Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports.
The GDP per capita reached 105,100 rubles. Income per capita reached over 14,000 rubles, the nominal monthly wage increased by 11.8%. The average wage is over 12,000 rubles. There are 8,800 unemployed, which means a drop of 45% compared with 2010.
The region received 1.7 billion rubles for modernization of healthcare. The region will have full examination of citizens in 1.5 to 2 years. Mamsurov said that they had seen educational improvements. Teachers' wages will increase from 10,000 to 12,000 rubles from September 1. 108 million rubles were issued for teachers' wages.
Mamsurov made particular mention of urbanization. He said that it caused increasing housing construction, despite his calls for people to stay in rural areas, he said commenting on recoverment from the August 2008 war.
The republic's head said that a lot has been done to improve the economy. Some government positions were closed down, there are more medium-rank specialists operating. Russia's recommendations were taken into account. Border security is improving every day. The state has daily goods exchange. Agriculture production has grown.
There are agreements with federal ministries, especially the Ministries of Education and Healthcare. They allow training of specialists, including foreign students.
