Medvedev says North Caucasus corruption aids terrorism

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday that corruption in
the North Caucasus region is directly benefiting terrorists, reports
Yuga. He also added that corruption threatens national security in
general.
He said that corruption in the region "has reached a dangerous level:
corruption threatens national security and weakens the entire state
and social institutions, and unfortunately, particularly in this
region, corruption benefits separatists and militants."
He also noted that illegal armed groups in the North Caucasus region
are part of a word-wide terrorist network.
