The three North Caucasus republics joined the five leaders of the
industrial recession in the first quarter of 2010, compared with the
same period in 2009. Dagestan and Chechnya had a 10% reduction in
industry, 4th place was taken by Kabardino-Balkaria, the report of the
Ministry of Regional Development said, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the ministry, the industrial production of Dagestan in
the first 3 months fell by 16.1%, compared with the same period last
year, in Chechnya – by 10.9%. Khakasia is in 3rd place (6.9%), then
Kabardino-Balkaria (4.7%), a similar drop can be seen in Moscow and
the Altay Republic (2.5% and 2.4%). The Khanty-Mansiysk autonomy fell
by 1.8%, Yaroslavl – 1.6%, Kurgan by 0.2%.
The leader of industrial production growth in January-March is
Kaliningrad territory (plus 138%), then Mordovia (28.5%), Mariy El
(27.1%), Lipetsk territory (26.4%) and Karelia (24.8%), Smolensk
territory (24.4%), Altay (24.2%), Khabarovsk territory (23.7%), Pskov
territory (23.6%) and the Kalmyk Republic (21.7%).
