Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone
conversation with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and discussed
regional problems and the situation in Syria, Cihan reports.
The conversation took place soon after the arrest of a leader of the
Kurdistan Workers’ Party, Murad Karayilan.
Ahmadinejad said that intervention by the West in the region is
unacceptable, Irib News reports.
Intervention complicates the situation and Libya is an example,
Ahmadinejad said. Iran is ready to cooperate with Turkey for stability
and democracy.
Turkey condemned Syrian President Bashar Assad for his violence
against the population, despite good ties with the country. The
authorities in Tehran support the Syrian policy.
