Russian military have started training in South Ossetia today, press-service of the commander of the Southern Military District Igor Gorbul said, Interfax reports.
The training is held at the Dzartsemi range on August 22-26. Over 150 military vehicles and over 700 people are involved.
Colonel Gorbulya said that special attention would be paid to well-coordinated actions in form of defense and offense.
Training is supervised by commander of the Russian military base in South Ossetia Alexander Shushukin.
Russia will send over 100 tons of humanitarian cargo to South Ossetia, including food, medicaments, literature, 200 sets of satellite TV. Aid was provided by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on request of South Ossetian Leader Eduard Kokoity.
