South Ossetia has received 116 tons of Russian humanitarian aid today,
Res reports.
Colonel Nikolai Verbitsky, supervisor of the Russian cargo delivery,
said that they transported electronics and food.
The cargo arrived by 11 trucks to Tskhinvali and was handed over in
the central square. Aid was sent by Russian Emergencies Minister
Sergei Shoigu.
South Ossetian Prime Minister Vadim Brovtsev thanked the Russian
Emergencies Ministry for its support.
The cargo was provided within the framework of the inter-departmental
program "Mutual Aid. Cooperation. Security", the third such program.
It involves 10 Russian ministries. Humanitarian aid was provided at
the request of South Ossetian President Eduard Kokoity. Russian
President Dmitry Medvedev approved it.
