The administrative border of South Ossetia and Georgia was closed this
morning by the Committee for National Security of the breakaway
republic, Trend reports.
South Ossetia is marking the 3rd anniversary of independence and
expects tensions on the state border sections of Mosabruni, Artsevi
and Sinagur.
South Ossetia saw mass military activity on the night of August 8,
2008 when Georgian forces entered Tskhinvali. They were later driven
away by Russian forces. South Ossetia and Abkhazia proclaimed
independence, which was recognized by Russia and a handful of other
countries. Tbilisi broke off all diplomatic relations with Moscow and
called the republics "occupied territories".
