Alexander Ivashin, former head of the Adygeya Directorate of the
Federal Migration Service, has become the Ombudsman for Children,
appointed by the president.
Adygeya Leader Aslan Tkhakushinov noted that the republic adopted the
law on children’s rights in late May. Citizens are allowed to address
the ombudsman directly.
Anatoly Osokin was the previous ombudsman for children. The office and
staff of the new ombudsman have not yet been decided. Ivashin is a
pedagogue, he worked as a history teacher in 1996. Then he served at a
section of the Federal Migration Service.
