Staff are needed to cater for participants, guests and facilities of the Sochi-2014 Olympics, vice-premier Dmitry Kozak told a round-table discussion at the Sochi 2011 Investment Forum today, Itar-Tass reports.
Approximately a third of the workplaces will remain in the city permanently, he said, adding that this was both an impetus and a serious problem that needed to be solved today.
The current number of staff is only enough to service the Olympics at 7% capacity, and the Olympic organisers need to create a unique personnel database and begin hiring staff, as well as interest employers, he stressed.
Three companies signed contracts today on hiring of personnel, including 5,000 temporary and 1,000 permanent staff for the organising committee and an Olympic Personnel Centre, which attract more than 52,000 staff to service guests of the Games.
President of the Sochi-2014 Organising Committee Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that 75,000 specialists also needed to be recruited and trained for the Games themselves.
