The Iranian Foreign Ministry has filed a note to Turkey requesting clarification of NATO radar deployment, RBC reports.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Ali Akbar Salehi said that the radar would be an unfriendly step by Turkey towards Tehran. He added that there are no clear military threats against Ankara for deployment of the NATO radar.
The radar deployment was announced in August this year. Initially, the radar was to be placed in the Czech Republic or Bulgaria. US specialists will control the facility. Washington says that the radar is a counter-measure against Iran’s rising military power.
