Moscow is hosting the 12th preelectoral congress of the United Russia Party. The meeting will take place for three days with President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin making speeches.
1,300 people will attend the congress, including members of the All-Russian People's Front, 1,400 journalists. About 50 million rubles were spent for the meeting, RBC reports.
There will be 6 sections for talks: "Civil society: Partnerships and justice", " Social policy: new standards", "Housing: Prospects for Development", "New Economy", "People Against Corruption", "Food security - basis of the country".
Vladimir Putin arrived for the "Civil society: Partnerships and justice". He discussed solution of social and economic problems. Putin underlined that it will be "bitter" medicine for the state but is necessary for progress.
The session will introduce candidates for parliamentary polls of December 4, 2011, with account of the results of primaries in mid-2011.
Parliamentary Speaker Boris Gryzlov, Emergencies Minister Sergey Shoygu, Vice-Premier Victor Zubkov, Vice-Premier Dmitry Kozak are expected to attend the meeting.
