The North Atlantic Council will hold a session in November in Georgia with the
participation of 28 member countries of NATO, the NATO Secretary General,
Anders Fogh Rasmussen, announced today, RIA Novosti reports.
Rasmussen has called the upcoming visit "a reaffirmation of the special
partnership" existing between NATO and Georgia, which is making "a very
significant practical contribution" to the international peacekeeping
operation in Afghanistan.
Georgia and Ukraine were denied Membership Action Plan (MAP), which is the
first step towards joining the alliance, at the NATO summit in Bucharest in
2008.
