Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has condemned Turkey for allowing NATO to establish an anti-missile radar on its territory, Gazeta.ru reports.
Ahmadinejad says that the radar is intended to protect Israel from a military conflict with Iran. Turkey permitted the radar construction last month, insisting that it will not be used against any state.
The radar was installed in Malatya Province, 700 km from the Iranian border.
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili urged the US to instal the radar in Georgia, promising to share data with all states, including Israel.
Turkey and Israel have broken off relations in the last months. Turkey demanded that Israel apologize for attacks against the Freedom Flotilla. Israel refused to do so and referred to a report by the UN special commission that had investigated the incident.
