Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the Chechen Republic, told ‘Komsomolskaya Pravda’ newspaper that he is tired of the responsibilities and burdens imposed by his position, but it is not yet time for him to retire.
In the interview Kadyrov also praised the decision of Vladimir Putin to run for presidential elections, with Medvedev becoming head of the government. Kadyrov pointed out that the actual post doesn’t matter if a person wants to serve his state and that is ‘the greatest Medvedev and Putin teach us’.
Kadyrov said that if he was offered to conduct such a ‘reshuffle’ in the Chechen government, he wouldn’t take the PM's office, but would rather retire, as this office is far too troublesome for a tired man.
However, according to the interview, the head of Chechnya doesn’t feel ready to leave politics yet, and his team isn’t ready to carry on without him either.
