The All-Russian People’s Front published its electoral program today, offering Russians the chance to decide who retires when he or she reaches the pensionable age and who wants to continue work.
The program offers to increase the age at which alcohol can be drunk from 18 to 21. The same changes concern the right to take part in electing authorized police officers.
The electoral program was to be based on speeches of president and prime minister at an assembly of the United Russia Party. The program may stay in force for 5 years, RIA Novosti reports.
The government will provide higher pension growth for active employment history and allows people to retire 3, 5, 7 or 10 years after the retirement age comes, the program says. Employment prolongs life, Russian and foreign experts say.
Increase of retirement age is one of the most topical issues. Former Finances Minister Alexey Kudrin and other government officials talked about the need to raise the age. People’s Front leader Vladimir Putin noted that they have not discussed the age rise. President Dmitry Medvedev spoke out against the initiative in April.
A new Criminal Code was introduced by the People’s Front in mid-October, instead of abandoning the old one. The existing code has undergone heavy amendments.
The People’s Front offers formation of a new investigative structure, uniting the Investigative Committee and investigative services of the Interior Ministry, the FSB and the Federal Service for Drug Control. Formation of a patent court was proposed to protect intellectual property of citizens and state.
Authors of the program also included ethic aspects of television, demanding state control over channels. Modern youth needs protection from certain films, TV programs, video games and internet resources promoting violence, erotics, smoking and alcohol drinking, they say.
One of the program’s points is the need for all deputies to report to the People’s Front.
