The Agency for Political and Economic Communications has composed a rating of the leading Russian politicians. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is the top politician (9.76), followed by President Dmitry Medvedev (8.21).
The rating of Putin and Medvedev was 1.55 in October and 1.28 in September.
The rating of the top five politicians changed due to staff reshuffles and political affairs. Deputy head of the Presidential Administration, Vladislav Surkov, holds third position. Igor Sechin, Vice-Premier for the fuel and energy complex, holds fourth spot. Vladislav Volodin, Vice-Premier, head of the government office, takes fifth place.
Former Finance Minister Alexey Kudrin, who had been among the top five politicians for many years, left the top 20. He took 47-49th position in October, NEWSru.com reports.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov takes 10th position, most likely due to resonances over the Libyan statement and publication of the Magnitsky list, composed by the US.
The main tendencies were an increase in the influence of the prime minister’s supporters, growth of the rating of federal channels and improvement of business.
Traditionally, the United Russia Party enforced its position due to the entrance of Deputy Secretary of the Presidium of the General Council Sergey Zheleznyak (99th position) to the top 100. The influence of the Chairman of the Supreme Council of United Russia, Boris Gryzlov, continues dropping (19th place). Sergey Neverov, Secretary of the Presidium of the General Council of United Russia, takes 53rd spot; CEC head Andrey Vorovyov – 71st; Andrey Isayev, Deputy Secretary of the Presidium of the General Council – 89th spot.
Head of the Communist Party Gennady Zyuganov takes 27th place due to heavy agitation. LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky takes 62nd position. Fair Russia leader Sergey Mironov takes 67th position.
