The law-enforcment agencies of the North Caucasus cannot cope with the
deluge of criminality, the head of the Investigative Committee of the
Russian Prosecutor (ICRP) Alexander Bastrykin said in Novgorod, RIA
Novosti reports.
He described the terrorist attacks in Stavropol as “an impudent,
monstrous crime against peaceful people”.
He said that sending some of the best 150-160 staff members to the
Caucasus was the right decision.
He emphasized that he has not seen a single case of cowardice or
unprofessionalism.
Bastrykin recalled that they had lost six of their comrades in the
North Caucasus in the last three years. He expressed confidence that
the people responsible for killing those men would be brought to
justice.
He noted that it is necessary to establish an ICRP museum. Bastrikyn
added that similar expositions should be opened in the regional
branches of the ICRP, where the killed law-enforcers lived.
