Russia is interested in the effective leadership of the head of South Ossetia, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said during a meeting with presidential candidate of the republic, Anatoly Bibilov, RIA Novosti reports.
During the last presidential elections in South Ossetia, which took place on November 13, none of the 11 candidates received the required number of votes to win.
In the first round, the head of Emergency Situations Services, Anatoly Bibilov, gained 25.44% of the vote, with ex-Minister of Education, Alla Dzhioeva winning 25.37% votes.
The Russian president called Bibilov "a man known not only in his republic," who actively works with representatives of the Russian Federation and solves a very difficult task.
In his turn, Bibilov expressed confidence that South Ossetia will continue strengthening its friendship with Russia.
