Cooperation of the CSTO and NATO has been of benefit to both organizations and contributed to the security of its members, although NATO, unfortunately, shows little interest in this interaction, CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha said in Moscow.
The secretary general stated that cooperation in drug control in Afghanistan would provide a great positive effect. Peacekeeping operations could be a success too.
Bordyuzha noted that Moscow may consider use of the Qabala radar as part of the Russian missile shield. Russia wants to prolong the rent.
The CSTO is ready to wait for NATO authorities to prepare for cooperation. The CSTO secretary general added that cooperation with NATO is not a matter of prestige or a vital aspect, it is just a desire to improve efficiency of work.
