South Ossetia to hold second presidential round

Today South Ossetia observes 'the day of silence' prior to the second round of presidential elections on Sunday, November 27th, The Voice of Russia reports.

In the first round the head of the Emergency Situations Ministry of the Republic Anatoliy Bibilov and the former Minister of Education Alla Dzhioeva received the largest number of votes of the original 11 candidates, receiving 24.86% and 24.80% respectively. Therefore 84 polling stations will re-open on November 27th.

Two of them are near the Russian border in the village of Verhny Ruk and will be open to citizens of the republic living in North Ossetia.

Polling stations will also operate in Moscow and Sukhumi where Embassies of the Republic are located.
