Opposition leader Alla Jioyeva has urged her opponent Anatoly Bibilov at the CEC information center on Monday to admit defeat at the presidential polls in South Ossetia, RIA Novosti reports.
A spokesman for Jioyeva said that she had 5300 more votes than Bibilov.
The South Ossetian CEC said that after processing 50.59% of votes that Jioyeva had 51.37% votes, Bibilov – 46.21%.
Over 40,000 of South Ossetians voted in the second round of the presidential polls on Sunday. Emergency Minister Anatoly Bibilov and former Education Minister Alla Jioyeva were competing. They had the same number of votes on November 13.
The winner of the second round of vote will be determined by the majority of vote. The CEC said that over 72% of voters took part in the polling process.
