Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has strongly condemned any foreign attempts for intervention in Syria, urging work toward a diplomatic solution to the Syrian unrest, Press TV reports.
Addressing an extraordinary meeting of the executive committee of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Salehi said on Thursday that the unrest in Syria would be solely resolved via reforms and comprehensive negotiations.
He lauded Syria's stance on resistance against “ambitious intentions” of the Israeli regime and stressed the importance of making reforms in Damascus.
The Iranian minister expressed hope for the Syrian government and nation to hold constructive talks and to take strides to support the oppressed Palestinian people and their cause.
