Turkey has frozen about $111 million of Syrian assets, Armenia Today reports.

The initiative is part of the Turkish plan of sanctions against Syrian President Bashar Assad. The assets belong to the Central Bank and the Foreign Trade Bank. The funds sent for Turkish state and private companies in Syria.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu announced the sanctions last week. A package of nine points includes blocking access of Syrian authorities to property and assets, suspension of credit programs. Contacts between the Central Banks of Turkey and Syria were stopped. Ankara banned Assad’s officials suspected in violence against its people from visiting Turkey. All cooperation with the Syrian army was stopped.
