Russian Premier Vladimir Putin urged South Ossetian president Eduard
Kokoyta to put an end to the campaign against the republic's premier
Vadim Borovtsev, who was appointed by the Kremlin. He advised Kokoyta
to focus on reconstruction of South Ossetia's infrastructure and make
more efforts to revive the economy, to which Russia has allotted
almost $1 billion, the newspaper Kommersant reports. The newspaper
also says that Borovtsev's political future, appointed to monitor
financial flows in the republic, was a top-priority issue at a special
meeting hosted by the Russian premier.
