Medvedev’s team stays with president

Arkady Dvorkovich, the Presidential Advisor, is willing to continue work with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev after the presidential polls. He also said that the bill on simplifying the registration of political parties would come into force in February 2012 if passed. It will be introduced to the parliament in the near future, the official underlined.

Commenting on reforms of the political system after mass protests in Moscow against the results of the parliamentary polls, the advisor noted that the president should not follow the demands of the protesters. At the same time, he added that protests would not stop until the government starts a dialogue with society, RIA Novosti reports.

The problems discussed at the protests are far from the issues that really concern the public. The real problems are housing and utilities, nurseries, schools and healthcare, the official believes.

Dvorkovich says that a totally new political party should be formed from scratch, but not based on the existing party, which has lost its authority and reputation.

The presidential advisor said on Sunday that investments in the Russian economy should exceed 5% in 2012. He added that the process should be influenced by both internal and external factors, regardless of the results of presidential polls in March 2012. Dvorkovich noted that 95% of projects are realized well. Investors want more stability, he says.
