Belarus has passed the chairmanship of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to Kazakhstan, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reports.
Kazakhstan plans to concentrate on information security, development of Collective Rapid Reaction Forces, collective security of Central Asian aerospace, and the fight against drugs during its year as chair.
The CSTO is a military and political alliance formed by the Commonwealth of Independent States. It consists of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
