Russian opposition activist Sergey Udaltsov has called for open public talks with the authorities, Ekho Moskvy reports on Thursday.
Previously, one of the leaders of the opposition People's Freedom Party, former prime minister Mikhail Kasyanov, said that he is ready for talks with the Putin administration.
At the same time, asked by the radio station's correspondent about his initiative, Kasyanov underlined that such talks should be transparent and supported by all opposition parties.
Sergey Udaltsov has just been freed from prison, where he he was kept (illegally, according to him) for almost a month, since the December 4th elections.
The parliamentary elections held in December are believed to be unfair by all opposition groups and the general public. Thousands of protesters gathered in many Russian cities to show their anger at alleged fraud.
The United States and the European Union both expressed concern about the polls and the situation surrounding democracy and human rights in Russia. The leader of the European Liberal Party has even suggested that the Russian delegation should be banished from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
