Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu is on a visit to Brussels, where he will meet NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, 1news.az reports.
Davutoglu's visit will be concluded with the meeting with Rasmussen.
The Turkish minister’s visit to Brussels comes after the announcement of the launch of a radar in Turkey, part of the NATO missile shield in Europe. A memorandum on setting up the radar was signed in Ankara in mid-September 2011. The document was signed by Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Fereidun Sinirlioglu and US Ambassador to Ankara Francis Richardone. The radar will be operated by an operative center in Germany. Turkish military staff supervised by a general will operate the radar. Turkey will also use data collected by the radar.
