Today Armenian President Serge Sargsyan called a conference of Security Councile. On the agenda of Security Council were the question concerning the forthcoming spring conscription, the changes in the structure of police and also were presented the details of the last visit of Serge Sargasyan to France.
After the conference secretary of Security Council of Armenia Artur Bagdasaryan presented some details. According to him, the first question of the discussion were the results of the visit of Armenian President Serge Sargsyan to France. “The consolidation of the bilateral relations is a big plus because France is one of the leading state in EU and also a friendly to Armenia country. And it’s very important that during this visit were created good possibilities for further development of bilateral relations” – mentioned Artur Bagdasaryan – reports “Armenia Today”.
The second question on the agenda of the National Security council was the question about the carrying out of the conscription what was caused by the program of the Security Service for 2010. “This question has vital importance for Armenia and is important for national security. We should have healthy and completed army” – mentioned Artur Bagdasaryan. According to him during the last year the amount of mercenaries in the army have increased for 2000 people and this is welcomed by the government.
The medical examination of the conscripts will be hold from 14 year old age for youth who has any illnesses were treated from the early age and prevent the further development of illnesses because of which many aren’t later admitted to the military service. Also the control of assignment of draft deferment will be more strict.
The third question concerned the program of reforms of the police activity for 2010-2011 which Armenia should realize within the bounds of it’s obligations to Council of Europe, OSCE and European Council. “Police should be decentralized and as much as possible approximate the population. In the city there will be built police halls with an area of 6-8 square metres which will give an opportunity to respond the complaints of citizens more efficient” – declared the secretary of National Security Council.
From January 1, 2011 there will be introduced biometric passports and a system of identification cards in Armenia. “The similar system works in the advanced European countries and the cards will contain the maximum information about it’s owner. There can be even driving license in them. The necessity in different certificates won’t exist any more. Thanks to the biometric passports and identification cards will be created a single data bank” – said Bagdasaryan.
According to him this reforms will contribute to the struggle against illegal drug market, against organizational crime, corruption, money laundering and it will be hold to the new level.
