Israel and Georgia to adopt visa-free regime

Yisrael Katz, Israeli Minister for Transport, National Infrastructure and Road Security, has met Georgian Minister for Economy Vera Kobalia in Israel to discuss cooperation, ZMAN reports.

The ministers agreed to increase the number of air flights between Israel and Georgia from 6 to 10 in both directions.

Kobalia said that a deal will be reached in a month, unless any adjustments need to be made. The current agreement the two states have was signed in the 1990s. The rising number of tourists requires more flights.

Katz noted the need for a visa-free regime between Israel and Georgia. Israel has visa-free regimes with Ukraine and Russia, proving beneficial.
