Turkish intelligence officers gain immunity

The Turkish parliament has passed amendments to the National Intelligence Organization, making all investigation cases initiated over its staff need government permission, Trend reports.

The bill was inspired by a scandal when a prosecutor’s office in Istantul summoned Khakan Fidan, Turkish Intelligence Chief, and his predecessor Emre Taner and three other intelligence officers for questioning. They were involved in a case involving the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK)
