Russia will contribute an additional $10 billion to the capital of the IMF, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said on Friday, Gazeta.ru reports.
The IMF will increase resources to $1 trillion. The initiative will be discussed at a meeting of finance ministers and heads of central banks of the G20 in Mexico on February 25-26.
Earlier reports said that Russia planned to add $15 billion. The IMF needs to increase financial resources by about $600 billion.
Arkady Dvorkovich, Russian Presidential Advisor, said that Russia may contribute up to $10 billion to the eurozone to cope with the debt crisis.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said at the G20 business summit that Russia would support the EU through the IMF.
